Shane Hewson

Shane has more than 18 years of software testing experience in
both the United Kingdom and New Zealand, originating from an
investment banking background. Within this specialised area, Shane
has developed experience and interest in automated and performance
testing tools, obtaining certification from Mercury Interactive in
1999. He has had experience at implementing automated testing
processes into large financial organisations and understands how
automated tools can be used effectively to improve the testing
process.
Shane is the Managing Director of Qual IT, but maintains a
strong interest in Technical Testing.
Jon McPhee
Director - Testing Services

With a background in Finance and Banking, Jon has worked in
industries such as Transport, Postal, Government, Education,
Aerospace and Banking. This has given him exposure to a wide range
of technologies, methodologies and practices in Europe, the United
Kingdom and New Zealand.
Jon has over 16 years experience in the Software Testing
industry with his area of expertise being Test management,
strategies and planning. Jon is interested in Test Process
Improvement, and has helped organisations measure their return on
investment in testing, realise efficiency gains and reduce software
lifecycle costs.
Andrew Johnston

Andrew has over 20 years business advisory and management
experience both in New Zealand and overseas. As the Chief Operating
Officer it is Andrew's role to bring his skills as a Chartered
Accountant and his passion for operational excellence together to
assist the business owners and staff to meet the strategic and
business goals of the Company
Michael Carnie
General Manager - Auckland

Michael is the General Manager of the Auckland office for Qual
IT. His background includes recruitment, testing and financial
accounting and auditing here in New Zealand and also in the United
Kingdom. Michael has over 18 years of commercial and financial
experience, backed with an accounting degree and is a current
member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants. He
has worked in Government and the corporate sector for companies
including professional services, outsourced IT services and
banking.
Michael's role includes business development, sales,
recruitment, resourcing and providing solutions to client's
requirements.
Craig Weise

Craig chairs the Qual IT Board. He has over 15 years of
commercial, financial and legal experience gained in the United
States, European and New Zealand markets. A seasoned corporate
financier, advisor, and executive, he has worked with both domestic
and international companies at every point along the business
lifecycle.
He has served as a director of companies in the financial
services, technology and hospitality sectors and has been an
advisor to boards operating across a variety of industries on
strategic, financial, transactional and governance matters. Craig
is a creative strategist who is passionate about helping companies
realise sustainable growth. His educational background (BA
(Honours) Economics, Juris Doctorate (Law)) combined with the
breadth of his financial, commercial and legal experience provides
Qual IT with sound guidance and governance.
Steve Willsher

Steve joined Qual IT in 2008 as a Senior Consultant and since
then has worked with several of our clients to develop and deliver
organisational test process, project test strategies, training and
mentoring. As part of the Executive Leadership Team Steve has also
made a significant contribution to Qual IT's Sales and Business
Development and in particular has been responsible for account
management on several of our key clients.
Steve has over 20 years experience in technical leadership roles
gained in the information technology and aerospace engineering
industries. Steve has extensive experience of IT delivery across
the SDLC gained from his work in the public and private sector in
New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
David Hayman

David's IT experience extends over some 27 years and includes
time spent as a programmer, systems analyst and project manager.
The last 23 years has been focused on software testing which has
provided significant experience in all aspects of the testing
practice, its processes, methods, theories and practical
applications.
David uses that long and varied practical experience to provide
a range of testing solutions to clients across business areas
including banking, insurance, government [local and central],
utilities, finance, telecoms and software development across New
Zealand, Australia, United Kingdom and Europe.
He is a frequent speaker at testing and management conferences
around the globe. He is an accredited trainer of the ISTQB
Foundation, Advanced Test Analyst and Advanced Test Manager
certification courses and has been a member of the ANZTB Board
since 2008; he is currently the chairman (as from Sept 2010).
David is currently a Test Consultant and Test Practice Manager
in Auckland, New Zealand.
John Campbell

John was appointed to the role of Test Practice Manager for the
Managed Test Services at Qual IT in February 2010. The Managed Test
Service delivers the Functional Testing requirements of our clients
and John is responsible for the resourcing, reporting and delivery
of his staff.
He provides leadership and guidance and works in a collaborative
way to achieve goals and delivery to clients. He manages a team of
twenty permanent Test Managers and Analysts, complemented by a
further 10 to 15 contract staff as required. They are assigned to
both private and government sector clients covering a range of
industries.
John has broad experience and has previously worked in a number
of IT roles including managing production systems and Test and
Application Analyst roles. In 2002 he attained a Post Graduate
Diploma in Human Resource Management, Victoria University, NZ.
Thomas Weber
Practice Manager - Performance Testing

Thomas is a seasoned IT professional with a comprehensive
business/technical skill set and has over 20 years experience in
technical leadership roles gained in the information technology and
maritime engineering industries. His expertise encompasses business
process automation/management (BPM), enterprise application
integration (EAI), process improvement, systems integration,
requirements analysis, project management, leadership,
infrastructure design / testing, software and hardware
testing/quality assurance and customer service.
During his career, he has worked with the US, British, Royal New
Zealand, Royal Australian and Finish Navies and validated varied
Defence related solutions such as GIS, Sonar and Simulator
systems.
Steve Knox

private and public sector.
Steve has more than 15 years experience in the IT Industry
across government, banking and retail from software development to
applications and infrastructure project management.
Melanie Dredge

If you are a QA Test Professional looking for a testing role our
lead test consultant Melanie will coordinate the best solution when
finding you the right testing opportunity.
Melanie had been working as a business coordinator in the ICT
industry for three years prior to joining Qual IT in 2005. Melanie
has worked for companies including Unisys and Trade and Enterprise,
together with two years experience in London in Public Relations
and Human Resources.
Stacey McPhee

Stacey has four years experience in Human Resources and an
affinity and appreciation for IT, having been the
administrator/master user of a number of applications in her most
recent roles at CentrePort and the Ministry for the Environment.
Stacey has also worked for Career Coach Consulting, Audit New
Zealand and as an ESL Teacher in South Korea.
Looking to combine her HR and IT experience, she joined the Qual
IT Wellington team in June 2011. As our Resource Consultant, Stacey
will be your first point of contact if you're a professional tester
looking for work in the Wellington market. She is passionate about
providing great service and working to understand a person's
strengths and motivators so she can effectively find them the right
role.
Jenny Paterson

Jenny is based in the Wellington office and is responsible for
finding new opportunities to provide Software Testing Solutions
into both Corporate and Government organisations. Qual IT are
always looking at developing their services and Jenny and the
executive team are responsible for delivering these to existing
clients and to the increasing portfolio of clients.
Jenny has over 17 years experience in both Sales and IT
Recruitment and has worked in London for 5 years and in New Zealand
for organisations such as Maxim, Candle, IDPE and worked for
Ministry of Health in a recruitment role providing resources for a
4 year programme of work.
